Hello, good news! ‘Superman & Lois’ is Renewed for a Season 2 !

Article of Variety:

Is it a bird?! Is it a plane?! No, it’s “Superman & Lois,” coming to a small screen near you for a second time around.

The CW announced the renewal of the most recent Arrowverse spinoff, starring the Man of Steel (Tyler Hoechlin), Metropolis’s award-winning journalist Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), and their two teenage twin sons Jonathan Kent (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan Kent (Alexander Garfin).
The Season 2 greenlight was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW Network, following the show’s major premiere primetime numbers last Tuesday. It lifted the network to its most-watched night in over two years and scored the best one-day streaming digits ever for a new show on The CW, said the network. “Superman & Lois” is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of ‘Superman & Lois,’ which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” said Pedowitz. “We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in ‘Superman & Lois’ and ‘Walker,’ both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
When factoring in delayed viewing, “Superman & Lois” gained an additional million viewers (1.7 to 2.7) in Nielsen’s Live+3 linear television ratings data, while Live+Same Day viewership among adults 18-34 popped 93% on an L+3 basis.
The superhero series, developed by Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing (who previously worked together on “The Flash”), is based on the iconic characters from DC Comics created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Berlanti and Helbing serve as executive producers along with Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns. Helbing penned the pilot’s teleplay, based on a story by Berlanti and Helbing. Lee Toland Krieger executive produced and directed the first episode.
With “Superman & Lois,” The CW has now renewed 13 series for the 2021-2022 season, including “Walker,” “All American,” “Batwoman,” “Charmed,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “The Flash,” “In The Dark,” “Legacies,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale” and “Roswell, New Mexico.”
Starring alongside Hoechlin, Tulloch, Elsass and Garfin in “Superman & Lois” are Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Wolé Parks, Adam Rayner, Dylan Walsh and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Article of Entertainment weekly :

The Kent family isn’t going anywhere.
Superman & Lois has been renewed for a second season, The CW announced Tuesday, a week after the drama’s super-sized series premiere and several hours ahead of the second episode. The Greg Berlanti-produced Arrowverse series joins Walker, the network’s other freshman drama that was picked up for a second season shortly after it debuted this winter.
“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz in a statement.
“We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in Superman & Lois and Walker,” he continued, “both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
Developed by The Flash’s Todd Helbing, Superman & Lois follows a version of the titular couple that we’ve never seen before on TV or in the movies: Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) are married and have two teenage sons, Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin). After a family tragedy reminds the busy parents what’s important in their lives, they decide to move to back to Smallville to raise their children, because they hope life will be slower there. Unfortunately, that turns out not to be the case because [SPOILER ALERT] they discover Jordan may have inherited his father’s powers, and a mysterious armored stranger (Wolé Parks) has a vendetta against the Man of Steel.
“The core of the show is rooted in this family and their struggles,” Tulloch recently told EW about the show’s family drama angle. “The way Todd was talking about it was, you want it to be kind of grittier. You want it to feel grounded, and you want to really believe that what they’re going through, other people can go through too.”
“We’re going to explore stories that haven’t been told in a way that they haven’t been told before,” Helbing added.
According to the CW, the show’s 90-minute series premiere gave the network its most-watched primetime night since Jan. 29, 2019, and had the largest day-one streaming audience for a new series in its history. The CW also renewed fellow Arrowverse dramas The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman for the 2021-2022 season in February.
Superman & Lois — which also stars Emmanuelle Chriqui, Dylan Walsh, Inde Navarette, Adam Rayner, and Erik Valdez — airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.

Article of Deadline :

Superman & Lois will be flying in for another season. Following its strong multiplatform series premiere last week, the CW has renewed the superhero drama for a second season. It marks one of the fastest renewals for a freshman series; in 2014, the CW ordered a second season of The Flash two weeks after that DC series’ big debut.
“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” said Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO, The CW Network. “We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in Superman and Walker, both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
The 90-minute series premiere of the present-day drama based on the DC characters lifted The CW to its best night of primetime in over two years, since January 29, 2019, according to Nielsen. Additionally, the debut delivered the largest day-one streaming audience for a new series in the history of The CW.
The series debut grew by an additional million viewers (1.7 million to 2.7 million) in Live+3, while nearly doubling the live-plus same-day viewership among adults 18-34, growing 93% in L+3, according to Nielsen and the network.
Superman & Lois brings to 13 the number of CW series renewed for the 2021-2022 season. Still pending are Kung Fu, The Republic of Sarah and Stargirl, none of which have premiered their current seasons.
Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Jordan Elsass as Jonathan Kent, Alexander Garfin as Jordan Kent, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks as The Stranger, Adam Rayner as Morgan Edge with Dylan Walsh as General Samuel Lane and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang Cushing.
Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois is developed by Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing, who serve as executive producers, with Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns and David Madden. Todd Helbing wrote the teleplay for the first episode, based on a story by Berlanti and Helbing. Lee Toland Krieger executive produced and directed the first episode. Superman & Lois is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
